Pitches and Woes

I've just had the great opportunity of pitching some show ideas to Nickelodeon International and while my attempts were unsuccessful (this time) it was a perfect chance to try something new and even learn a little bit in the process.
So although the overall ideas were not quite right, I was still happy with the artwork and character designs, so I thought I would share them on here.

These guys below are from a Pirate show I've had bubbling in my head for a while now. Guess its time to put them to bed, or maybe a burial at sea would be more appropriate.
Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Those look great my friend. Just remember... that most of those whom you pitch to have no clue what a good show should be like... most just want cookie cutter copies. If you feel you have a really great idea and honestly believe it could be a good show, then don't put it to rest just because some suits say it didn't cut it!
..But that's just me... I hardly take no for an answer!

  2. Please don't put it to rest. I'd love to see an animatic with these characters, to get a feel for the show. That would be sweet.

  8. great stuff, chris! I love the mood of the first piece and all the characters are awesome... it's great that you learned from this experience, 'cause that's the most important thing. rejection is just a part of this business, and as far as I can see, it's their loss. keep up the amazing work!

  12. yes, love some of the expressions and poses on the pirates piece. The lighting and action shot on the first piece is great too! I agree with Rawls, there aren't hardly any good cartoons on anymore - it would be better if you developed this as a web series so you would have more creative control over it - would love to see some of these characters animated.
