Lunchtime sketch

Just a litttle quickie I started at lunchtime today. I think he's about to say "Why I aughta!...."

Maybe someone stole his stash of paperclips or ate his piece of pie which had his name clearly written on it. That's enough to make anybody say "Why I aughta!..." in my book.

  1. Crikey, what pens do you use for the shading? The sketch is great!

  2. Hey Lenny, this was done in Flash using the brush tool and a pen tablet. No pesky real life pens for me on this one. How are you getting on with Toon Boom?

  5. This is great! I love messing around in Flash but I haven't been able to get comfortable enough drawing with a pen tablet. You on the other hand, don't seem to have this problem.

    Well done.

  6. Thanks guys,

Jason - I'm actually using a 12" Cintiq which helps a lot when sketching loosely like this. It's may favourite gadget ever!

  11. I've been tempted, several times, to buy a 12" Cintiq. I do prefer to work with traditional pen and paper but I can see myself really enjoying the Cintiq.

Do the find the 12" sufficient in terms of size?

  12. Hey Jason, The 12" can be a bit limiting at times, but if you have a program that allows you to hide toolbars and side menus, then the screen size is plenty. Obviously the larger version would be my first choice but they're quite a bit more expensive.

I really love mine and couldn't work without it now.

Wacom, if you're listening, all freebies are welcome for this glowing endorsement :)

  13. Hahaa! I hope Wacom showers you with free goodies (if only it were that easy).

Thank you so much for your thoughts Chris. A Cintiq has been on my want list (not my "need" list) for a long time. Perhaps one day I'll treat myself.
